We are in the middle of a huge re-landscaping project in our backyard. Out wonderful friend, Megan, is a fabulous landscape architect and created a plan for our yard. Here are some pics of the progress so far:
Looking pretty bare! Tommy pulled out all of the plant material along the fence last fall (except for our climbing rose) and all of the plants on the side as soon as the ground thawed this spring.
Before: Ugly, old chain link fence
After! Gorgeous new lattice fence installed by New England Woodworkers
All of our new plant material and new beds staked out
The plant material consists of : "little Linda" kalmia (mountain laurel) and royal azaleas along the new fence, an "Elizabeth" magnolia, several rhododendrons, and both peewee oakleaf hydrangeas and endless summer hydrangeas.
Planting began today!
The new side bed
We have a really excellent landscaping crew working on this project. The tall guy in the red does the hard labor and the short one in the pink jacket is the crew chief.
She is a tough cookie, but a hard worker. She takes her job very seriously.
She inspects the work that the crew has done...
And reviews the plans....
And even pitches with digging.
We can't wait for the finished product and for all of our new plants to bloom!
