Summer is here! Last weekend wasn't a very good start to summer, it was freezing!
A fire to warm us up during Memorial Day weekend
Cozied up by the fire
It finally warmed up on Memorial Day which was great because we went to Marblehead for a cookout at the Turners. Grace is Francie's best buddy at school, so it was fun to spend the day with her and her family

This weekend has been H.O.T!!!
I picked up MFG early on Friday and we hung out in the backyard and tried to cool off :)
Sprinkler time!
Since it has been so hot, we've spent pretty much the whole weekend at the beach. It is so nice to live so close to so many beaches!
We went to Eiseman's beach with the Korgies first on Saturday...
Beach buddies Francie and sweet little Maeve
Beach diva
The water was perfect; calm and warm (at least by New England standards) so we all got in to swim. Francie loved it!
Daddies and daughters
What a little fish!
Beach bum in training
Fun new doormat for the backdoor - a must in summer so we don't track in sand
Later on Saturday we went to Phillips Beach for our first beach happy hour of the year
Francie and Grace had a big time!

Then we went to the Korgies to grill clams and lobsters - Yum! We were supposed to have a lobster bake on the beach, but the permits got pulled at the last minute. This was the next best thing though!
Grace and Francie toasted "marsh-la-ohs"
and made s'mores
After a good night's sleep, we headed to the beach again. Grace's birthday party was today at Devereux Beach in Marblehead and we had a great time. Francie got in the ocean again even though it was a little colder today
Pizza on the beach
We ended our weekend at a new place. One of our friends who lives in Nahant recommended Kelly Greens, a 9 hole golf course with a club house right across from the ocean. It was awesome - there was live music, the weather was gorgeous and the food was great. We ran into one of Francie's friends from school and they had so much fun dancing :)
A perfect end to a perfect weekend. So glad summer is here - best time of the year to live at the beach!
