We have recently started a major renovation on our house. We have been talking about doing the work for over 2 years, so it is exciting to finally get going!
We are doing 3 projects at the same time: creating a master walk-in closet, finishing our walk-up attic to create a 3rd floor space (office and guest room), and adding central A/C (a luxury in New England!)
The first project, the master closet, is finished! We have been wanting to do this since we moved in! Tommy has used the guest closet (below) since we bought the house because the master closet was not big enough for both of us.

First day of demo!
When they did the demolition, they found this very old Valentine's card - I guess a special something from the former owners
By the 2nd day of demo, the closet looked like this
By the 3rd day - let there be light! We did not have any lights in either closet before, so I am thrilled to have new recessed lighting in our new closet
Next, they closed up the old doorway to the guest closet, put in a new ceiling, and patched the gap between the walls
No more closet in the guest room! (We are going to build another one that protrudes from the wall in a different part of the room)

At this point, living without closets for both of us was starting to get old! It wasn't pretty...

When we got back from Florida, the flooring was finished
And on Friday, the new shelving was installed - yay! We went through the Container Store and got the Elfa shelving. I have to recommend them so highly, we had a great experience. We gave them the dimensions of the new closet and our storage needs and they designed a fantastic closet.
And as of today, the closet is completely finished! We got a great new rug as well :)
We are thrilled with the final product! Tommy and I can finally share a closet again.
