Double Boston Light Swim

Tommy successfully completed the 16-mile double Boston Light Swim on Friday, October 7th! This was his qualifying swim for the English Channel next summer. He had to do a swim of 6 hours in water with an average temperature at 61 degrees.

We got to the Boston Yacht Club very early in the morning so that would could catch the tides just right.

Our boat at dawn

Here is the swimmer and his crew getting ready for the day

Here he is about to jump in

Psyching himself up to get in - that water was cold!

Swimming in to the beach from the boat where he will officially start from land

Ready to go.....

And he's off!

We lucked out with glassy water and a beautiful day

Swimming in to the sunrise

You can see the Boston Light in the distance

Almost halfway!

Heading back to Boston

You can see the planes flying in to Logan

Our friend Jen jumped in a swam with Tommy for about an hour

Getting closer!
