We got a kitten! It was an impulse decision....We really thought we would not get a new pet for a while, but the house felt so empty without a pet. I was the one who instigated it! I had been looking at kittens online at our local shelter and we went in on Friday to check out a little kitten named Cheddar. Cheddar had been adopted when we got there, but we fell in love with this sweet little girl called Speckles. She was so sweet and not skittish - we just felt like she chose us!

And in her new home! She is about 4 months old (born on 3/10/15 - our anniversary!) She was in foster care since birth in Virginia and raised by a very sweet lady who sent her with a handwritten note. I emailed her to let her know that the sweet kitten had found a loving home and she was so appreciative.
We kept Anderson and the kitten separated by the baby gate at first so that the could get to know each other gradually.
Such a sweet face! She is little - she only weighs about 4.5 lbs
Mary Francis did not know that we were getting a kitten so she was very surprised when she got home from school!
MFG named her Pearl, which we think is a perfect name for our little white kitty. Pearl made herself at home in our room for her first night.
The next morning, MFG wanted to see her first thing!

We let Anderson get to know Pearl today. Pearl was a little but terrified if her at first, but they are fine now that the novelty of each other has worn off
