We have been busy getting ready for Anderson to arrive! The biggest project has been getting the nursery ready. This was formerly Tommy's office, so we had a lot of work to do in there. Tommy has spent many weekends over the past few months working on the room! The room was a dark navy blue, so the first order of business was to paint. We chose this light pink color. My mom described it as an "orchid pink" which really captures the color.
I had ordered the cute bedding that you can see above on the changing table awhile ago (from Caden Lane), but I've slowly been getting more things for the room
This cute lamp is from Land of Nod
This sweet wall monogram is from Pottery Barn Kids
I so regretted not having an ottoman in MFG's nursery, so I wanted to get one this time. I found this cute one on Layla Grace
When my parents were in town a few weeks ago, my Mom and I got lots of baby things and we found a cute shag rug at Target (love a bargain!)
I got this bright pink Harper bumper and crib skirt from Pottery Barn Kids
My mom sent us this adorable mobile! So perfect, matches the Harper bedding and bunnies :)
Baskets for the changing table from PB Kids
We had a dresser that we planned to use for the nursery, but we realized that it was too large for the room. So my next quest was for a lingerie chest to use as a dresser. We went to estate sales, antique stores, I looked online but I couldn't find the right thing at the right price. I finally found this one on Craigslist and decided to go check it out.
It was perfect! Just the right size and only $50!
So cute - it was sort of shabby chic...distressed but in great shape. All I wanted to do was replace the knobs.
I ordered a couple of different turquoise knobs but none were right. Tommy finally found some great knobs at Home Depot and spray painted them.
MFG helped put them on the dresser
Ta-da! Love it
BUT, all of the work pales in comparison to the hugest project for the nursery. We "borrowed" the closet from this room to expand our master closet last summer, so this room was left with no closet. Thankfully, I have such a handy husband - He built a beautiful custom closet!
The beginning....
Several weeks later with doors complete (but not hung) and crown molding complete
Almost finished! Painted and doors hung
Finished! Tommy is amazing. It looks like it has always been in the room.
The inside of the closet (this baby is not wanting for clothes!)
Still needs the shelves installed on this side, but almost complete!
Now that the closet is complete, we were able to set up the nursery this weekend. Here is the finished product!
I love this room!
I plan to spend a lot of time sitting in the rocking chair over the next few weeks just waiting for Anderson to get here!
