Orlando Trip

Sorry for being MIA for so long. I was down for a week with the flu, and then a cold the next week and then we went to Florida for a much-needed vacation and break from the cold weather. We had a great week with my family despite all of us being sick with colds, including my parents. Here are some pictures from our trip. In usual post-vacation fashion, LONG post ahead!

The weather was PERFECT the whole time we were there. About 80-85 degrees and sunny and we enjoyed lots of time outside. Mary Francis loved the wagon and took lots a rides around the patio and backyard.
 Loving it!
She also loved all of the toys at Nanny and Papa's house and had so much fun playing with her grandparents

On Thursday, we drove over to Port St. John to see the last launch of the space shuttle Discovery. Mary Francis got to enjoy the weather on the swings while we waited for the launch.
(I LOVE this picture. The way she has her little face turned up into the sun is just too cute).

The locals waiting for the launch by the Indian River
Tommy was excited to see the launch from such a close vantage point. He has NASA in his blood!
 Lift off!
Family photo right after the launch (you can still see the smoke in the sky). Mary Francis is excited...she is clapping her hands

On Friday, Aunt Bet and my cousin Lissa came to Orlando with Lissa's boys, Griffin and Cannon. What precious boys!
 Cannon and MFG
Griffin and Tommy playing in the tunnel
Tommy being silly with the tunnel
Our sweet girl enjoying the sun
 Sweet little Cannon
The cousins (2nd cousins? I think? 2nd cousins once removed?) playing
Mary Francis feeding her baby. She is really into babies these days. She loves dolls and likes to feed them, rock them, burp them, and give them hugs and kisses.
Griffin got a swim lesson from Tommy

We went to Cannon's baptism on Sunday and I made some christening cookies for him

We had to make a trip to urgent care on Saturday because of an ear infection :( but we had a quick visit and Mary Francis was feeling better soon

We got to see one of my oldest friends, Rhett, and meet his girlfriend Maggie and their sweet baby girl Una

We spent lots of time in the pool and Mary Francis loved it. The water seemed a little cool (it was February) but she didn't mind one bit!

I got her these tiny shades at Hobby Lobby and she loved them. Such a hipster!

More outside playtime

Mary Francis was an absolute angel on our flights home, despite an upset stomach from her antibiotics. We had a diaper blowout on the first flight and luckily, I brought some extra clothes for MFG. Unfortunately, she was sitting in my lap at the time and I did not bring any extra clothes for myself. Oh well, no one said motherhood was glamorous.

She looks like such a big girl here! Being so good watching her Baby Einstein DVD.

This was the cover of the Southwest magazine on our flight home. Mary Francis saw the baby and grabbed the magazine, gave the baby a kiss and then put the magazine on her shoulder and patted and "rocked the baby." Too cute.

Now we are back in the frozen tundra. It was so wonderful to see my family and enjoy some warm weather! We miss Florida already.
