We had another big Nor'easter here today. We knew this one was coming, so most people didn't have to work today (yay!) and we got to have a snow day.
We ended up getting about 16 inches, less than the last storm, but this time, snow was wet and heavy. Look at the trees and power lines!
With this storm on top of what we already had on the ground, we have 3 - 5 foot snow drifts in some places.
Our backyard
Front yard - You can't even see our hedges!
We made snow cream, something I've always wanted to try. Here is the recipe:
1 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
Mix ingredients together and then add fresh, clean snow until a slushy consistency.
Snow cream sundaes. Yum! Tasted kind of like a vanilla milkshake.
We didn't give Mary Francis any snow cream (because of the raw egg), but we did let her play with some snow. She liked it and wanted to eat it.
We also let her have some of the homemade whipped cream that Tommy made for the snow cream sundaes. She REALLY liked that!
There were several trips up and down the driveway and quick tour down the sidewalk
