Another January Birthday and A Farewell Brunch

We had another busy and fun weekend. On Friday, Tommy and I met our attorney in Boston to finalize our wills and trusts. I think you are officially a grown-up when you have a will! It does give us peace of mind to know that we have those things taken care of. Afterwards, we had a lunch date at Zaftig's, one of our favorite restaurants in Brookline.
The last day we ate at Zaftig's, I was in labor! After they started the Cytotec to begin my induction at around 11am on Friday, January 22nd, 2010, they told us to go get lunch since it would take a few hours to take effect. I remember having very mild contractions during lunch and Tommy and I saying, "This is our last meal out as a couple with no children!" Amazing how much our life has changed in the last 12 months!
I looked a lot like this "zaftig" lady last time we had lunch here! (This painting hangs in the deli)
On Saturday, we went to our playgroup friend Charlie's 1st birthday party. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of the birthday boy, but I got some of MFG and her other buddies that were there.
Who needs toys? This paper plate is so entertaining!
It was a big hit with Johnny too
Adorable Johnny (and Megan hiding behind him)
Griffin doing some tricks - how cute is he??
Daddy thought it would be a good idea to let MFG try chocolate again (in a pink dress...)
Mystery solved....
She likes chocolate. A lot!
On Sunday, we met the Gonzales and Hendrix families for brunch at the Greenland Cafe in Salem to say farewell to our wonderful friends Ryan, Megan and Johnny, who are moving to Philadelphia this week. We are going to miss them so much!
Mary Francis and Griffin chowing down at brunch
Less than a week until this sweet girl turns ONE! It is hard to believe how quickly a year has gone by.
Big weekend ahead!! MFG's birthday party is this Saturday and she is being baptised on Sunday. Both sets of grandparents and Aunt Robin and cousin Anna are headed into town for the celebrations. Preparations have begun - here is a sneak peak of some of the birthday party crafts...

Not sure where this craftiness is coming from, but I am having fun with it! Does becoming a mother flip some internal Martha Stewart switch that I didn't know about??
