Newport News Visit

We are very sad to say that Tommy's Grandma Mary passed away last Thursday. She was an amazing woman and we loved her very much. We are so happy that she had a chance to meet Mary Francis. Tommy also went to North Carolina last week and was able to spend time with her before she passed away. We will miss her very much, but she lived a long, happy life. She was almost 100 when she died and had 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren!

Mary Francis and I joined Tommy in Virginia Thursday night to be with his family for the services. Even though our visit was under sad circumstances, we had a fun trip and had a great time catching up with family. Here are some pictures from our visit:

On Sunday, we had a chance to drive to Norfolk to visit my brother, Chase, and his fiance, Stephanie. They live in Ghent, an adorable neighborhood in Norfolk and their apartment is so cute. We had a great lunch and walked all over Ghent and took Mary Francis to 2 playgrounds. It was so great to see them!

Monday night, Tommy's parents watched MFG for us so that we could go out to dinner - a rare treat these days! We drove over to Williamsburg and had a fabulous dinner in the Regency Room at the Williamsburg Inn. We walked around Merchant's Square in Colonial Williamsburg before dinner and bought this beautiful traditional wreath for Christmas. I love the magnolia leaves!

Such a beautiful hotel. It reminded me of the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, where we had our wedding reception.

Our waiter couldn't figure out the iPhone, so this was the best picture we got
We had a very early flight this morning, but Mary Francis was a trooper. She got a special sticker from the TSA.
We also got up graded to first class which was awesome. MFG liked it.
Back in Boston - what a great trip!
