Family Time

It is so nice to have dedicated time as a family on the weekends. Our lives are so busy during the week that sometimes we feel like we are barely keeping our heads above water. I had a particularly crazy week, including a trip to Chapel Hill. It was so fun to go back to North Carolina. I stayed with the Davis family and did a guest lecture at the nursing school. It was great to catch up with Molly and see how big their kids are!

After an exhausting week, it has been great to just relax and spend time at home. Mary Francis is growing up so fast . . . there is really no baby left in her.  She is so smart and funny, and fiercely independent. But she is also very sweet and snuggly, and we have done lots of that this weekend.

She is also a MESS. Francie and I were working on a little art project yesterday and she was coloring with markers. She was having a great time and being really quiet, but I looked over and she was drawing on her face! And then, I realized the markers weren't washable. Yeah.

That is a sassy face if I've ever seen one!

Today was a beautiful spring day, so we spent our morning outside.

I feel like she looks like such a big girl here!

She has gotten really good at kicking the ball.
Maybe we have a future soccer player on our hands.

We got Mary Francis a sand and water table and she loves it!

Tommy and Mary Francis hard at work.
Tommy = staining our deck. MFG = making mud pies.

These toys came with the water table. Mary Francis calls them the "Little Guys."
"Look Mama, the Little Guys are swimming in the pool!"

She wanted to take her baby for a walk down the street in the tiny wagon.

This was on the way back. Note, the 2 front wheels are actually IN the wagon because they fell off halfway through our walk. Trying to explain this to a 2 year old proved a little difficult, so I finally just let her drag the wagon home with only the two back wheels.

She didn't seem to mind the loud scraping noise that the wagon made!

She loved the cherry blossom trees that line our street.
She kept stopping, pointing, and saying, "The cherry blossoms are so awesome!"

They are pretty awesome.

Here's hoping that everyone has a great, stress free week!
