We got back from our anniversary trip to St. Lucia late last night. We had an amazing time and Mary Francis did great while we were gone. Olivia, our babysitter, said that she kept telling everyone that "Mommy and Daddy are at the beach" but that she wasn't sad. We were so excited to see her this morning! We've spent the morning cuddling on the couch and downloading pictures from our trip. We'll get to unpacking at some point....
Here are some photos from our fabulous stay at the Jalousie Plantation (if you ever go to St. Lucia, stay there!) Be warned, there are a LOT of pictures...It was hard to choose!
Our butler(!) greeted us on arrival with run punch and champagne and informed us that we had been upgraded to one of the Luxury Grand Villas! It was a gorgeous room.
Wanted to take the walk-in closet home!

We were pretty far up the hill, so shuttles take you down to the beach
The resort is beautiful and situated between the Gros and Petit Pitons
Amazing pool with swinging lounge beds

You can see the villas on the hill above the beach
Tommy took one of the Hobie Cats out every day to sail

On Tuesday, we took a sunset cruise. A small boat picked up at the Jalousie and took us to Soufriere, where we got on the catamaran
Once we boarded the catamaran, we cruised around the coast.
We saw this bat cave and could here them squeaking inside (cool, but gave me the creeps!)

Happy couple :)

Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain, two other nice resorts

Beach at night
Wednesday, we did a day-trip/spa excursion to the Sulphur Springs. This pool is filled with hot water from the springs heated by the dormant volcano and has silt-like mud at the bottom. We soaked in the pool for a mud bath and then had the mud applied and let it dry in the sun.
The mud smelled like sulphur but did leave our skin feeling great!
Next we drove through the volcano, where you can see the steam and the boiling hot springs
Then we took a trip through Soufriere to see a beautiful waterfall in the rainforest
After we got back, we had massages at the spa. I wished I had gotten pictures of the spa, because it is so cool! It is like a little treehouse village up in the rainforest on the mountain with a stream running underneath. Very relaxing.
That night, we went to Dasheene for dinner at the Ladera Resort. Ladera is directly above the Jalousie, but much higher on the mountain. It made for an amazing view of the sunset!
Enjoying the view during cocktail hour
Amazing view from our table!
Thursday, we just enjoyed the beach and snorkeled. We decided to watch our last sunset on our patio.
Thursday night, we had our best meal, by far, at Boucan. It is at the Hotel Chocolat, which is on a cacao plantation. Everything on the menu is made with cacao or chocolate. It was divine!

Very cool restaurant
We enjoyed the beach for a few hours on Friday morning before we had to catch our plane home
Check out the plane that picked us up in St. Lucia! Go Red Sox!
We had an absolutely amazing trip. It was the perfect way to celebrate 5 happy years of marriage!!
