4th of July Weekend

We had a fun 4th of July weekend with my parents who came to see us on Friday. MFG has loved spending time with her Nanny and Papa! We had great weather for most of the weekend and enjoyed all of our small-town 4th of July festivities. We hate to see Nanny and Papa go tomorrow morning!

Here are some pictures from our fun weekend:

Mall playground fun with Nanny and Papa

On the first Saturday in July, our town has a Strawberry Festival with the cheerleaders and football players selling strawberry shortcake as a fundraiser and a 4th of July parade.

Playing with Papa in our playroom before dinner

We had a great dinner on the water that night

Sunday morning, Tommy met up with friends to do a 6-mile ocean swim. We met them on the beach at the half-way point and then met up with the hungry swimmers for lunch.

Waiting for Daddy to arrive

There they are! (See the group of people in the water?)

Getting back in for another 3 miles

We played on the beach a little longer

Clean and dressed for lunch!

 Fun with Nanny

Unfortunately, our town fireworks were cancelled last night (they are always held on July 3rd) due to rain, but they are supposed to be rescheduled for Tuesday night. We'll see....We still had a fun evening. Our neighbors had a party and we had hotdogs and ice cream with Nanny and Papa at Popo's Hot Dogs.

This morning was the annual Horribles Parade in our neighborhood. We didn't win a prize for our "float" but we had a good time!

When is the parade going to start?

This family won first prize for their awesome float and costumes

 Out little patriot!

Parade

Papa and Nanny watched the parade from our porch and met us at the end

After the parade, we went to Marblehead to have lunch and walked around the Arts Festival

Then we picked up some lobsters for dinner (our New England 4th of July tradition)

MFG helped picked the good ones this year!

For the rest of the day, we relaxed in the backyard and enjoyed the weather

Even Taylor got in on the festivities with her sporty new lobster collar and leash :)

Happy 4th of July!!!!!!!
